Right, this is for ladies who want lush, tousled locks, and seriously, this truly is a look that is easy and never goes out of style.
The key is to wash your hair in the evening for the style to “set” overnight. You don’t need your GHD or curling tongs…this look doesn’t need these things, and uses just a quick blast of the hairdryer. See? Green!
Wash your hair using a good quality shampoo. We're loving Biologika Coconut Shampoo with its divine coconut scent, and for those with sensitive skin, try Billie Goat Soap Shampoo as it is enriched with goat's milk. Follow with an appropriate conditioner for your hair type. Squeeze out excess water and then wrap hair in a towel.
After toweling, I usually let my hair hang loose for an hour while I go about my evening business (play computer games / feed baby / rub pet's belly / rub partners belly). This allows it to air-dry even further. I find that using you hairdryer less results in less of those annoying frizzy flyaways, and it’s less maintenance.
Spritz hair with a heat protect spray like Miessence Protect Hair Repair for extra nourishment. Then, finish the dry by hanging your head upside down and blasting the roots with your hairdryer. It’s ok to leave the ends slightly damp.
Finally, tie your hair in a haphazard topknot with a (gasp of horror!) scrunchie. If you want a mass of tendrils, tie two topknots on top of your head, like a Harajuku girl.
Sleep on it. If the topknots are on the tippitytop of your head you won’t feel a thing.
The next day, unfurl your hair, and wallah! It may look a little crazy at first, but it will soon settle if you comb lightly with your fingers. For extra kapow, spritz some beach spray onto your hand and scrunch through hair, concentrating on the back of your crown. Finally add a spritz of your favourite perfume. We love One Seed.
Leave as is, or pin it half-up Bardot style. Going out? Nothing is cooler this spring season than fat eyeliner, lightly stained lips, tousled hair with a big, fat colourful flower behind your ear. Now hit the town, you saucy nymph, you!
