Organic brands are no longer reserved for niche minorities; more than ever we’re understanding the far-reaching benefits of using products that use naturally sourced, organic ingredients. From stressed-out urbanites to laid-back beach dwellers, many of us are taking onboard the fact that buying organic beauty and skincare products is the more environmental and healthy option.
Buying and using organic beauty is better for our skin, better for animals, better for the planet, and better for our health – pretty hard to buy something spiked with petrochemicals and parabens when you know all that…
But when buying organic, which beauty and skin brands should we buy?
Overseas the natural beauty industry has really found its foothold in the mainstream arena. Brands such as Ren, Juice Beauty and John Masters are big-name brands doing great things for our skin and the environment. Here at Bare Naked Beauty HQ we love brands like these because they help to make organic and natural beauty accessible to a wide audience, which in turn pushes the whole industry forward.
But we see our role as slightly different. Bare Naked Beauty only stocks Australian organic brands because, while we’re very concerned about what goes onto our skin (naturally!), we also like to keep close tabs on our environment. And it’s hard to dispute that buying Australian-made goes a long way to reduce both our carbon footprint – and yours.
Sure, sometimes, locally sourced ingredients are not possible, but as the Australian organic industry grows and gets more support from buyers, it will be possible to create even more environmentally friendly products. (And we like the sound of that very much.)
Organic, natural, good for skin, good for the environment and totally beautiful. What’s not to love about Australian organic brands?
